RentEazzy (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use the RentEazzy mobile application and website (the “Service”).

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: name, mobile number, email address, and role (owner / tenant) provided during registration.
• Property & tenant data: property details, units, rent amounts, deposits, agreements, and tenant records that you (as an Owner) enter into the Service.
• Payment data: transaction records, payment receipts, and metadata returned by our payment gateway (Razorpay). We do not store full card numbers, CVV, or UPI PINs on our servers — these are handled securely by the gateway.
• Device & usage data: device model, operating system, app version, IP address, and usage logs for diagnostics and security.
• OTP verification data: mobile numbers used to send one-time passwords for authentication.

2. How We Use Information

• To create and manage your account and verify your identity.
• To provide core functionality: tenant tracking, rent reminders, receipts, and reports.
• To process subscription payments and issue invoices via our payment gateway.
• To send transactional notifications via SMS, WhatsApp, or email (e.g., OTP, payment confirmations, rent reminders).
• To improve the Service, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.

3. Sharing of Information

We share information only as needed and only with:

• Service providers who power our infrastructure (e.g., Supabase for data storage, Twilio for messaging, Razorpay for payments, Vercel for hosting). These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations.
• Tenants linked to your property receive limited information you choose to share (e.g., due amount, receipts).
• Authorities when required by Indian law or in response to valid legal process.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to advertisers or third parties.

4. Data Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit, encrypted storage at rest with our database provider, role-based access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal data for as long as your account is active. After account deletion, we retain transactional and payment records for 8 years as required by Indian taxation laws. Other personal data is deleted within 30 days of an account-deletion request.

6. Your Rights

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data (subject to retention rules above).
• Withdraw consent for non-essential communications.

7. Children

RentEazzy is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can delete it.

8. Cookies & Tracking

Our website uses minimal cookies for session management and analytics. The mobile application uses local secure storage to persist your login session. We do not use cross-site advertising trackers.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the App or by email. The “Effective Date” above will reflect the latest revision.
